Mike

Director of Health for All Nations

Mike Soderling, MD, MBA (International Development)

Dr. Soderling received his MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin and finished his residency in OB/GYN in Baltimore, MD in 1991. After 10 years of private practice in Wisconsin Mike and his family moved to full time cross-cultural work in Guatemala where he co-founded the community development ministry, Salud que Transforma (Transformational Health, a Guatemalan C-FBO). While in Guatemala he, along with his wife Chris and several other individuals founded El Refugio shelter for abused women. Mike also worked on the organizational development of Light and Life Christian School in Salquil Grande, the Dept. of Quiche. In December of 2008 Mike earned an MBA in International Development from Hope International University.

Since returning full time to the US in 2012 Mike has served as Director of Health For All Nations, a global network of mission leaders and organizations dedicated to re-engaging the church with health and wholeness. Health For All Nations is the parent organization of the Christian Journal of Global Health, the Best Practices in Global Health collaborative, the Christian Global Health in Perspective course and the soon to be developed Center for Global Health at William Carey International University in Pasadena CA.

Dr. Soderling is also co-Catalyst for the Lausanne Health in Mission Issue Network as well as a facilitator for the Health Sphere within the Global Strategy Forum within the WEA. He is passionate about excellence in governance for Christian non-profits. Mike served as CGO (Chief Governance Officer) for WCIU during a time of significant change.

Mike is a collaborator with the Winter Launch Lab in Pasadena, CA. The WinterLL is the innovation arm of Frontier Ventures (formerly the US Center for World Mission, founded by Ralph Winter). The WinterLL is using Systems Thinking/Design Thinking/Adaptive Leadership principles to understand the complex issues faced by the global Church and uses a very carefully crafted approach  to coming up with innovative solutions where whole person care and unreached people groups intersect.
