Todd & Hyunhye Pokrifka

Todd and Junia began working with Frontier Ventures in 2014. They have been involved in FV's training and educational programs ever since. Todd has been serving as the National Director of INSIGHT, a college-level study program (www.insightstudyprogram.org).

Todd and Junia have developed an innovative, holistic mission training program called Commission Training (www.commissiontraining.org), which had its first year of students in Pasadena in 2017-18. More recently, they have been leading a team to develop a mission-oriented Bachelor's program in Global Leadership. This program, which they hope to launch in the fall of 2019, would integrate elements from INSIGHT, Commission Training, and overseas learning and service into an accessible, accredited BA-alternative for students in the US and in locations abroad.

Todd and Junia are passionate about the work they do at Frontier Ventures, which they see as a perfect way to harness their unique backgrounds and abilities to fulfill God's global purposes, especially among the unreached, the neglected, and the poor. They grew up as pastor's kids: Todd in the Northeast US and Junia in South Korea. They discerned calls to ministry and missions in their youth, but also sensed God's direction to pursue academic vocations. They have pursued holistic formation and service for themselves and in those they instruct and mentor.

Todd and Junia pursued intellectual development (forming their "heads") by obtaining Ph.D.s (in Theology and Bible respectively) and by serving in academic teaching and writing at Azusa Pacific University, until recently.

They pursue spiritual and personal development (forming their "hearts") by being engaged in personal and corporate spiritual disciplines and seeking renewal and wholeness in themselves and others.

They pursue practical service (equipping and using their "hands") by serving in varied forms of church ministry and cross-cultural mission.

While they pursued doctoral studies in Scotland, they founded and led an interchurch prayer ministry and served in a local church. While teaching at Azusa Pacific University, they spent a summer in Mozambique to participate in a training ministry. They also served on the pastoral team of a local church for several years, planted a Vietnamese house church, engaged in numerous short-term mission trips, and founded and directed their own mission agency.

Out of this background and experience, Todd and Junia are leading and developing training and educational programs in Frontier Ventures that address whole persons—heart, head, and hands—for the purpose of making disciples and establishing God's shalom.

Todd and Junia are also the parents of two amazing boys. Daniel, a high-school student at FV's Judson International School, enjoys travel, soccer, and cooking and eating exotic foods. Immanuel, who is in elementary school, loves art, nature, and anything creative. Junia's mom, a faithful intercessor, lives with the family in their home in Pasadena.

Todd and Junia and their two sons, are God's beloved who pursue his presence. They desire to see all the kingdoms of the world learn to declare God's greatness and goodness.

We'll keep you up to date.
