Todd and Junia began working with Frontier Ventures in 2014. They have been involved in FV's training and educational programs ever since. Todd served as the National Director of INSIGHT, a college-level study program from 2014 until it closed in 2017. They founded and led Commission Training, a holistic training program, and Commission Community, a missional community in Pasadena from 2017-2022.
Todd and Junia founded the Institute for Community Transformation (ICT) in 2020 and have been directing it since then. ICT is a completely online program devoted to whole-person formation (shaping of the head, the heart, and the hands) for the sake of whole community transformation among the least reached and most vulnerable people on the planet. The program emphasizes communion with God, community with other believers, and sustainable mission in the world. The students in this program are established and emerging leaders primarily from the Global South (especially Africa and Asia). The students have the option of enrolling in one of our partnering universities to complete accredited bachelor's or master's degrees. Besides being grounded in biblical approaches to mission and community transformation, students in this program engage practically in the communities where they live and serve through evangelism, discipleship, community development, and business. Both current students and graduates have seen God do incredible things in and through them as they implement what they are learning.
Todd and Junia are passionate about the ICT work they do at Frontier Ventures, which they see as a perfect way to harness their unique backgrounds and abilities to fulfill God's global purposes. They grew up as pastor's kids: Todd in the Northeast US and Junia in South Korea. They discerned calls to ministry and missions in their youth, but also sensed God's direction to pursue academic vocations. Todd and Junia pursued intellectual development (forming their "heads") by obtaining Ph.Ds. (in Theology and Bible respectively) and by serving in academic teaching and writing at Azusa Pacific University, until 2017. They pursue spiritual and personal development (forming their "hearts") by being deeply engaged in personal and corporate spiritual disciplines and seeking renewal and wholeness in themselves and others. They pursue practical service (equipping and using their "hands") by serving in varied forms of church ministry and cross-cultural mission. This has included serving on a pastoral team of a large church for several years, planting a Vietnamese church in Southern California, engaging in numerous short-term mission trips, and in founding and directing their wholistic educational program. For over 30 years now, they have pursued holistic education, formation, and service in their own lives and in the lives of those leaders whom they are empowering.
Todd and Junia are also the parents of two amazing boys. Daniel is a college student who is pursuing business and mission. Immanuel is a high schooler who loves art and nature. They currently live together in Redding, California.
