Jim & Sterling O'Neill

Dr. and Mrs. Jim and Sterling O'Neill

Jim serves as Director of Mobilization and Leadership Development at Frontier Ventures. Simultaneously, Sterling serves with Jim and works as a Consultant and Certified Global Life Coach developing leaders, as a member of Frontier Ventures.

Jim and Sterling have been married for over 37 years. They have 4 grown children, 3 son-in-laws and 4 grandkids. Jim hails from Pennsylvania and Sterling from SC. They met in college in Virginia, where both were called to missions.

Serving together, they each come with 13 years of church planting experience in Asia, 13 years in leadership with two mission organizations, and 8 years ministering in formal theological education and equipping.

They are both passionate about multiplying leaders, engaging Kingdom movements and mobilizing God's people to take the Gospel to the unreached. Through all of these ministry experiences, a common thread for the O'Neills has been a love for assisting younger leaders in their preparation for God's Kingdom assignment. They founded the Next Gen Leaders Conference in 2003. They discerned a profound need to integrate leadership with mission, community, hospitality, spiritual formation, and weakness as essential attribute for leading the global church. The Next Gen (www.nextgenleader.net) provides the forum to engage these qualities.

Some of their core values in conjunction with Frontier Ventures include their love for collaboration, along with the integration of spiritual formation and hospitality.

In their off time, they enjoy tennis, hanging out with people, especially their grown children, their spouses, grandkids and young leaders. They like taking dates in local coffee shops and bookstores, and enjoy watching any of the four tennis grand slam tournaments. (One of their dream trips would be to attend one of the semi-final and/or final match at the Wimbledon Championship in England!)

Sterling also writes a blog of her experiences in mission life and faith on her website (www.sterlingoneill.com) "Woman to Woman: Journeying together through Faith and Missions."
