Social Media Intern with Perspectives course

Position Description

Social media interns will work with the Perspectives team to assist int he development and maintenance of the social media platforms of the organization and its family of ministries. They will help to grow and implement the social media strategy and its goal therein. Oh, and they'll probably have some fun too.

Semester length (three months). We anticipate interns working approximately 8 hours per week and 60 hours total in a semester, but will seek to accommodate internship requirements.

Key Qualifications

  • Self-motivated worker and learner
  • Organized and reliable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of content from the Perspectives Study Program

Key Responsibilities

  • Post content on multiple social media platforms
  • Research to find new and up-to-date content as it relates to the organization's mission, vision, and values
  • Analyze performance data to refine posting strategy
  • Create conversation and a social environment
  • Brainstorm new ideas with the social media and graphics teams
  • Take and/or locate pictures to post

Finance and Accounting Internship

Position Description

The intern will be supporting the ongoing accounting and financial review of operational and project or departmental budgets.

Key Qualifications

  • Self-motivated worker and learner
  • Organized and reliable
  • Business or accounting background or major
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with or aptitude for learning QuickBooks software
  • Moderate skills with Excel Software

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting departments in working through budget guidelines/templates
  • Learning to produce timely and helpful reports from Quickbooks software
  • Developing skills in ministry stewardship and financial management, including recommendations for investments and cash reserves as well as renovation projects for office and management of housing endowment revenue.

Website Designer Internship

Position Description

The intern will be provide website design for both existing and new websites.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of website design, usability, and user experience (UX): able to incorporate those into website design
  • Able to create a range of visual styles and develop an appropriate design that communicates the brand's values and message
  • Knows how to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Fireworks
  • Basic HTML and CSS are a plus, but not required
  • Self-motivated worker and learner
  • Organized and reliable

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve the aesthetics and usability of existing websites.
  • Work with project managers, design team, and developers to launch new websites.

Website Developer Internship

Position Description

The intern will be provide website development for both existing and new websites.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong skills in the following languages: HTML, CSS, iQuery, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Able to learn new languages quickly, or already experienced with ExpressionEngine and CodeIgnitor
  • Experience with Git and version control in a shared development environment
  • Able to problem solve (debug) issues efficiently and effectively
  • Knows how to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Fireworks at a basic level as need to turn design comps into HTML pages
  • Self-motivated worker and learner
  • Organized and reliable

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new features for existing websites.
  • Work with project managers, design team, and other developers to launch new websites.
